The YMCG project has newly launched “Call for Compositions” aimed at discovering and supporting Chinese young composers. The project aims to promote and facilitate the dissemination, performance, and promotion of contemporary excellent orchestral works that focus on the themes and voice of the Greater Bay Area on the YMCG, which boasts a global perspective and international influence in cultural and artistic exchanges. The YMCG orchestral composition solicitation officially started in October 2024. Chinese composers (regardless of nationality) who are under 40 years old by January 31, 2025, engaged in composition or related professional studies or work, are eligible to submit their compositions. Submitted works should be composed after January 2020, incorporate elements of the Greater Bay Area, and be written for an orchestra (excluding concertos and vocal forms). The performance duration should be between 6-10 minutes and must be a new work that has not been commercially performed or published. Composers can submit their applications via email from now until November 30, 2024. For more details, please refer to official guidelines.
