Fanqi Music Fellowship Award Sponsored by BeeVest Capital, Steven Ying Music Fellowship Award Endowed in perpetuity by a generous gift from Foundation for Amazing Potentials

1. About Us

The Steven Ying Music Fellowship Award was established with a generous grant from Foundation for Amazing Potentials (FAP), a Hong Kong registered charitable foundation Under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. The Fanqi Music Fellowship Award was established by BeeVest Capital, a Hong Kong registered company under the Hong Kong Law.

Objectives:
YMCG, BeeVest Capital and FAP recognize the significant barriers that some gifted young musicians face. The goal of the Music Fellowship Award (the Fellowship Award) is to assist exceptional young musicians from China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), North America and Europe with a two-week amazing culture and music immersive program at YMCG including dedicated mentorship from world leading symphony orchestra musicians and guest faculty, in-depth study of chamber music, and masterclasses, and orchestral performances under the baton of Music Director Daniel Harding. BeeVest Capital is sole funder of Fanqi Music Fellowship, and the Foundation for Amazing Potentials Ltd. is sole funder of Steven Ying Music Fellowship Award to promote young people artistic excellence and enhance YMCG’s reputation as one of world’s premier platforms for young people culture and music exchanges.

Intent:
Each year, the Fellowship Award provides 16 the most accomplished and deserving young musicians from China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), North America and Europe with valuable funding to attend the entire 2-week culture and music immersive program at YMCG covering recipients’ tuition, international transportation, lodging and living stipends.

Process:
The Fellowship Award application is found within the YMCG admissions application and should be submitted as a part of the YMCG admissions application. Candidates will be notified of fellowship award decisions with their YMCG admissions decision.

Requesting a fellowship award after YMCG admissions decisions have been released decreases the chances of an award being offered. Applying for a fellowship award does not affect YMCG admissions decisions.

Selection:
To adjudicate the Fellowship Award, YMCG annually assembles a distinguished review panel of professional musicians and educators to review each candidate’s application and audition tapes. The Fellowship Award is awarded taking into consideration an applicant’s talent and abilities as demonstrated in the audition, as well as financial needs. The review panel is supervised by an independent Board of Oversees.

Thanks to the generous support of BeeVest Capital’s Fanqi Music Fellowship Award and Foundation for Amazing Potential’s Steven Ying Music Fellowship Award, YMCG provides some of the most amazing young musicians with not only valuable financial aid, but also with a community of enthusiastic fans who stand behind these aspiring young musicians and help them to realize their dreams.

If you have any questions about the Fellowship application process, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist.

2. Board of Overseers

The Board of Oversees is composed of a representative of the YMCG Artistic Committee (one person), a representative of the YMCG Music Director and Mentor Team (one person), a representative of the YMCG Executive Committee (one person), and a representative of the Benefactor (one person).
